Recruitment - What to Expect
If you have either been invited to our recruitment process, or are even thinking about it, you may be wondering "what does it involve?" or "why should I go through this process?"
What does the recruitment process involve?
The picture below shows our recruitment process, and is split into two areas; traditional and specialist.
The purpose of an Open Evening is to get to know whether candidates may share our culture and values and for them to get an insight into what First Response Finance and the role they are applying for is all about.
As a candidate, you will be invited to our offices on a specific date and time. When you arrive, you will be received by a member of our team who will brief you about First Response Finance as well as how the evening will look.
You will have the chance to spend time speaking with our employees who do the same job that you are applying for. Through this conversation, you will leave with a better understanding of what the role you intend to fill, our culture and the values look like. At the same time, we will get a better understanding as to whether your application could be right for First Response Finance.
After the open evening, we shortlist a final number of candidates to go through the next stage of the process: The purpose of the Assessment Day is to find candidates that demonstrate the right values and a learning mind-set along with the correct competences.
The candidates who are found to match these criteria will be interviewed individually at the end of the day. If you are successful, you will be contacted and offered the job formally and those who are not will be given feedback about their performance in the assessment.
The purpose of the phone/Skype Interview is to get to know whether you share our culture, values and have the required competencies for the role you are applying for and for you to get an insight into what First Response Finance is all about.
You will be contacted and offered different time-frame options to arrange the interview, which will usually take 20-30 minutes.
Once the interview is arranged, you will receive a call from a member of the Learning & Support Department, who will ask you about your background and experience as well as answering all your questions regarding the company and the role you are applying for.
Through this conversation, you will leave with a better understanding of the role while we assess whether your application is right for First Response Finance.
Should you be successful, after the phone/Skype Interview, you will be shortlisted to go through to the next stage of the process.
Technical Assessment and Interview
The purpose of the Technical Assessment and final Face-to-Face Interview is to assess whether you demonstrate the specific technical skills along with the right values and learning mind-set to perform the role to a high standard. You will be contacted and offered possible dates and times to come to our offices so we can meet you in person.
When you arrive, you will be greeted by a member of the HR-Learning & Support and IT Departments, who will facilitate your Technical Assessment and Final Face-to-Face Interview.
If you are successful, you will be offered the position formally and those who are not will be given feedback about their performance.
Why should I go through this recruitment process?
The second question is an easy one to answer. We want to make sure that you not only have the right aptitude, and competencies, but also that yours and our values are a match for each other.
Through lots of experience, the different stages of our recruitment process help us make sure that these points are met.
We don't believe in wasting our candidates’ time. Therefore the first stage of our process is about culture and fit, while the following stage is more related to job specific competencies and aptitudes.
