BRANDS HATCH – May 10/11
Brands Hatch was set to be an exciting meeting with the Triumph Challenge running alongside the British Super Bike's (BSB) and in front of a 50,000 strong crowd! Great for the riders and the crowd.  The weather couldn't have been better - clear blue skies and 26 degrees all weekend.

I didn't have great expectations for this weekend as I was one of the only riders who had never ridden this circuit.  As priority for the weekend was given to the BSB our track time was limited with no Friday practice, only one qualifying session and one race on Saturday, and no warm up just one race on Sunday. This only gave me 15 minuets (8 laps) to practice on a 2.7 mile track before our first race! In normal conditions, you would normally use a whole day (80+ laps) to perfect a track!

I qualified in 21st out of 32 on the grid. As the red light went out on the first race I went for it and I found myself lying in 14th at the end of the first lap. As the race went on my inexperience at Brands Hatch kicked in and I lost 4 places putting me back to 18th position as we passed the chequered flag.

The second race took place on the Sunday at 2 pm the hottest part of the day and in front of 54,000 spectators. As the light went out i didn't get my usual good start and half way round the first lap I was 23rd.  I managed to fight my way up to 18th and on the last lap rider 73 James Stone crashed out of 17th promoting me to 17th for the chequered flag!
