Lordswood Youth FC
Our adventure at Under 8’s was superb winning 31 drawing 7 and loosing just 6 out of our 44 league games and finishing runners up to Real 60 losing out on top spot by just 4 points. The cup run was also good, we dispatched our current nemesis Bredhurst easily in the quarter-final by a 6-1 aggregate, only to be knocked out in the Semi-Final by an inspired Cliffe Woods team.
Our season at Under 9’s was almost a re-run of the previous season playing 52 league games winning 36 drawing 7 and losing 9 we once again finished runners up. Our cup campaign went one step better than the previous season and we reached the final dispatching; Chatham Colts, Horsted, Rainham Kenilworth and Cliffe Royals along the way to the final where we were beaten
to the cup by Bredhurst 3-2 on aggregate.
Just to complete the Mini-Soccer pain our last season saw us finish runners up in the league having played 36 league games; winning 19, drawing 9 and losing 8 along the way. Our cup campaign mirrored the previous season reaching the final and losing to Bredhurst. Having beaten; Fulston Zebras, Chatham Riverside, Rainham Eagles and Sheerness East on route.
I am really looking forward to next season when we are entering the big exciting world of 11-a-side football. This offers a new challenge to the players and management alike not to mention trying to teach the offside rule (to the parents that is!!). I feel we have a squad that is superbly equipped to make the transition into 11-a-side football the boys understanding of the game of football is superb and in many cases well above their years.
